How escort verification works here

Not a checkbox. A government photo ID, a liveness check, and a human confirming the person in the ad is the person on the ID.

The process

Three checks, every advertiser

  1. 1

    ID check

Government photo ID, licence, passport or proof-of-age card, plus a liveness check, through a specialist verification provider.

  2. 2

    Photo match

A human confirms the person in the advertisement is the person on the ID. Photos that do not match are rejected.

  3. 3

    Dated badge

The badge shows the month verification was issued. It expires after 12 months and must be renewed.

What we keep

We do not retain ID documents

What we keep

An attestation that verification passed, the month it passed, and a one-way hash used only to stop banned people re-registering.

What we delete

The ID document itself, and the images captured during the check. These are destroyed once verification completes.

What expires

Verification lapses after 12 months. A lapsed listing is unpublished until it is renewed, the badge is never stale.

Limits

What verification does not mean

We verify identity, that an advertiser is a real, consenting adult. We do not curate, endorse, or vouch for any advertiser, their advertisement, or any service. Advertisers write their own ads and are solely responsible for them.

The difference

Age-verified is not identity-verified

An age check answers one question: is this person over 18? It can be passed with any adult's document, because nothing ties the document to the person in the photos. A photo check answers a different one: do these photos match each other? A phone check proves someone owns a number. None of them prove that the person in the ad is the person on the ID.

Identity verification does. The advertiser presents a government photo ID and completes a liveness check, so the document belongs to the face in front of the camera. A person then compares that face to the photos in the ad. When all three agree the badge is issued, dated with the month it passed, and it expires after 12 months.

That is also why there is one listing per person. Two listings would present one verified human as two, which is the exact claim the badge exists to rule out. Other sites use the word "verified" for an age check, a photo check or a phone check. Read the badge, and ask what it checked.

FAQ

Common questions

Does verification cost anything?

No, and it never will. The free Verified tier is permanent and functional in every city. Paid tiers buy reach and convenience, never the badge.

Why is the badge dated?

So you can tell how recent it is. An undated "verified" claim tells you nothing; it could be from 2022. We will never show one.

What happens when it expires?

The advertiser is reminded at 60 and 30 days. If it lapses, the listing is unpublished until they renew, it does not quietly stay up.

Can I report a profile?

Yes, from any profile page or at /report. Reports about trafficking or anyone underage page an operator directly with a four-hour response target.

Is "verified" on other sites the same thing?

Usually not. On many sites "verified" means an age check, a photo check or a phone check. An age check confirms someone is over 18 and can be passed with any adult's document; a photo check confirms the photos match each other. Here it means identity: a government photo ID, a liveness check, and a person confirming the face in the ad is the face on the ID, with the month it passed printed on the badge.
